This Shaker inspired round stitchers tray with papered interior measures 6” wide by 1.25” tall.

Please note, trays with a papered interior are a relatively new offering. So far, I have only offered them in a couple of variations (green and red exteriors with one style of paper in both). I will be offering more options in the future. If you are looking for specific exterior colors or paper styles, please let me know! You can leave a note by clicking the request button above or email me at robert@lehays.com.

This is our round stitcher's tray with a paper-lined interior! The high-quality paper features a vintage look, is glued in place, and then coated with a protective matte finish.

A versatile tray with countless uses. In your craft room, it helps organize sewing and art supplies. In your office, it keeps pencils, binder clips, and other supplies handy. Additionally, it’s perfect for holding small kitchen items or displaying keepsakes in any room!

Construction:

  • Materials: The side of the tray is constructed from maple or birch and the bottom board from quarter-sawn pine. All lumber is milled at our shop here in Embden, Maine.
  • Hand-Cut Joints: The swallowtail joint is individually hand-cut by Robert LeHay, ensuring each piece is unique.
  • Fasteners: The band and bottom board is secured with copper tacks made on original 19th-century machines.
  • Finish Options: Available in a variety of milk paint and natural finishes. All painted pieces receive two coats of a high-quality tung oil finish, while natural finish trays receive five coats. This oil finish ensures that the tray is well protected and the finish will only get better with age.
  • Aged Appearance: Copper tacks are darkened to provide a vintage look. Following tradition, the bottom of painted pieces is left unpainted, then dyed and oiled to provide an aged patina.

Since 1993, LeHay’s Shaker Boxes has been making boxes and carriers in the Shaker tradition. While mass-produced, machine-made items have replaced many traditional products, nothing can replace the individuality of an item that has been created by hand using locally sourced materials. We sincerely appreciate your interest in our products!
